Laurel & Hardy Club
2nd Wednesday of the month 7.30pm

The world wide fan club was set up by Stan Laurel in 1963. It is known as the Sons of the Desert after the title of one of the duo's films. There are 35 branches in the UK. Each is known as a 'tent', a name also derived from that film. Peter named the Tameside branch the Blotto tent after the title of another Laurel and Hardy film.

The club's fun largely involves watching the classic comedy films but also involves dressing up for a trip to Ulverston in Cumbria in July, for the annual Laurel and Hardy convention and a parade.

To join in, just turn up at The Buffet Bar at 7.30pm on the second Wednesday of every month, or call Peter on (0161) 339 7355.
